As we come to the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment to say a very genuine thank you.
This has been our best year ever at Capricorn Mohair Socks — and that simply wouldn’t have happened without your support. Whether you’ve been buying our socks for years or discovered us for the first time this year, we are incredibly grateful.
What matters deeply to us is that we remain a small UK business, making our socks here in the UK and working closely with skilled people who genuinely care about what they produce. We don’t take that for granted. Every pair of socks that leaves us is something we’re proud of — designed to be warm, comfortable, durable, and worn again and again.
One of the most meaningful moments of the year came after Black Friday, when we were able to donate socks to The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle. That donation only happened because of the trust and support you showed us, and it was a reminder that small actions can still make a real difference. Meeting the people involved and seeing those socks go directly to those who needed them most was genuinely humbling.
This year has also reminded us just how varied our customers are — people buying socks for walking, for work, for warmth at home, and as thoughtful gifts. We’ve welcomed many new customers, while also continuing to be supported by long-standing customers who’ve been with us for years (and in some cases, decades). That loyalty means more to us than we can properly put into words.
We’ve also enjoyed introducing new styles this year, responding directly to what you’ve told us you want — socks that work just as well through winter as they do in the warmer months. Your feedback shapes what we do, and we genuinely listen.
As we look ahead, nothing changes at our core. We’ll continue to:
- make our socks in the UK
- focus on warmth, comfort and quality
- listen carefully to customer feedback
- and do our best to run a business that feels personal, honest and human
